My name is Jennifer Combs Barnes. I am a daughter of Bobby Kennith Combs and Caltha Lou Whitley Combs. The
stories that my father told me as a child painted a colorful picture in the mind of a youngster and as I grew older I felt
that I had to know more about these people. I now feel I have become close to family members that I was never able to meet,
as their lives have unfolded before my very eyes via my research. Genealogy has provided a sense of history for myself and
for my father, who is dedicated in helping me with my search for our roots and who is as excited by each new discovery as
I.
My husband Brian and our kids Carly and Brandon live near Silverton, Oregon where the kids are learning to
love country life and all it has to offer. We thank God every day for our beautiful home and the closeness of family
and friends.

| Combs Family Farm circa 1914 |
The family farm was originally the Lyman Hall Donation Land Claim and was farmed for many years
by Isaac Stevens and his wife Catherine McElfresh Stevens. If anyone has photos or pictures of the Hall's or Stevens'
I would love to see them!! We definately feel Isaac's spirit on the farm! He must have loved it here as much as
I do, because he doesn't seem to want to leave, which is just fine by us!
